NICE Clinical Guideline on Service user experience in adult mental health (CG 136)
In order to improve patient involvement, NICE recommends that in hospitals service users should have an opportunity to meet with a specialist mental health pharmacist to discuss medication choices and any associated risks and benefits.
It also recommends that comprehensive written information is provided to patients, and this is facilitated using the Ashtons Patient Information Leaflet folder. It also suggests that web based resources are provided, and these are available via the Ashtons Choice & Medication website.
