Cochrane Review on Clopixol (Zuclopenthixol) Accuphase for RT
There is a comprehensive review of the evidence for using Clopixol Accuphase for treating acutely disturbed patients.
Haloperidol injection is the most commonly used injectable antipsychotic, and Clopixol Accuphase was found to have similar efficacy and side-effect profile.
It has a slower onset of action but lasts for 2-3 days, which can reduce the number of injections administered. Lower doses, such as 25mg, were found to be as effective as the BNF recommended doses of 50mg to 150mg.
