NICE Autism Quality Standard (QS 51)
The clinical presentation of autism is variable because of differences in the severity of the illness itself, the presence of coexisting conditions such as sleep problems, epilepsy, affective disorders, behavioural problems and cognitive deficit which may or may not be present. The provision of services will, therefore, need to be varied. This guidance can be used to inform commissioning and to develop services.
These autism quality standards consist of 8 key statements that should be implemented.
