Brain Awareness Week (14th to 20th)

 In Mental Health

Brain Awareness Week (BAW) is recognised across the world to raise awareness of advancements in brain research and advocate for further funding in science. This week falls in March every year and this year it is between the 14th and the 20th.

The Dana Alliance for Brain initiatives launched this awareness week and gives people worldwide a chance to celebrate brains of all ages, and gives everyone a chance to learn more about the most important organ in our bodies.

Activities generally take place in this week at schools, neuroscience labs, exhibitions, social media, libraries and community centres.

This awareness week is a great way to get in touch with the 90% of grey matter we don’t use and learn about one of the many wonders of our anatomy. If you feel like you want to get involved, or would like more information about the Brain Awareness Week then please visit
