Depression in Children and young people: identification and management (CG28)
This Nice guideline was updated in September 2017 and covers ‘identifying and managing depression in children and young people aged between 5 and 18 years. Based on the stepped care model, it aims to improve recognition and assessment and promote effective treatments for mild, moderate and severe depression.’
This Nice quality standard makes recommendations on:
- Care of all children and young people with depression
- Stepped care
- Step 1: detection, risk profiling and referral
- Step 2: recognition
- Step 3: mild depression
- Steps 4 and 5: moderate to severe depression
- Transfer to adult services
