Your training allocation for 2019 is now available

In Developing your Team, New Ashtons Services

Ashtons provides a wide range of training courses, including e-learning and clinical training seminars. You can now choose from 11 clinical training seminars including:

  • Medicines management
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Rapid tranquillisation
  • Diabetes and insulin
  • Drug interactions
  • Safer medicines administration
  • Controlled Drugs
  • Clozapine
  • Patient group directions
  • Mental Health Act
  • Epilepsy and mental health.

We have also added two smaller training courses to our portfolio, which last between 30mins and 1 hour:

  • Valproate and pregnancy
  • Cannabis oil.

The following are also available for healthcare assistants:

  • Introduction to medication
  • Administration of medicines.

For hospitals that have an allocation of inclusive training, this begins in January and must be taken within the calendar year. Hospitals cannot roll-over their allocation to the following year. Additional clinical training seminars are charged at the standard rate of £545 + VAT.

E-learning courses updated

In addition to our clinical training seminars, Ashtons also provides access to e-learning courses for which over 15,000 people have now registered. All five of our e-learning courses have been revised for 2019, including:

  • Prescription and administration record
  • Clozapine dose titration chart
  • Rapid tranquillisation
  • Introduction to side-effects
  • Side-effects for clinical staff.

These courses will be launched on 11th February 2019. The new courses will replace the old versions and users will no longer be able to access the old versions, or certificates associated with these. This means that staff who are part-way through completing an old version will need to finish this before the above date or be prepared to start the new one afresh. Staff with ‘administrator’ permissions will still have records of the old versions and who has completed them.
