End of life care for infants, children and young people (QS160)

This Nice quality standard was published in September 2017 and covers end of life care for infants, children and young people (from birth to 18 years) who have a life-limiting condition. It also covers support for family members and carers.

This Nice quality standard makes six statements on:

  • Advanced care plan
  • Named medical specialist
  • Emotional and psychological support
  • Specialist paediatric palliative care team
  • Support for grief and loss for parents and carers
  • Care at home

QS160 has been incorporated into the NICE pathway on end of life care for people with life-limiting conditions.
