Medicines: A Patient Profile Summary (MaPPs)

In Medicines Management Processes, Mental Health, New Ashtons Services, New Product, Pharmacy Information

MaPPs is an innovative new service that produces a summary of ALL of a patient’s medication in electronic format which can be used in a variety of ways.

The main feature of MaPPs is that patients can be given a printout which lists the most important details of all their medicines. It has been shown that patients are more likely to take their medication correctly if they are provided with relevant information, so the MaPPs leaflets should improve medicine compliance.

MaPPs can be saved in a PDF file and uploaded to the patient’s clinical records, or utilised in the discharge summary or other clinical reports.

MaPPs is available on the Ashtons Hospital Pharmacy website and is simple to use. Staff just need to enter the patient’s name, then select each medicine from a drop-down menu until all the patient’s medication has been selected.
